I’m a biologist with a background in ecology, ecophysiology and biodiversity research. My academic work has included field and laboratory research, statistical and spatial analysis, mechanistic modelling, scientific writing and collaboration across different research groups and countries.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in the visual side of research: how figures, diagrams and illustrations can make ideas easier to understand. I now work across scientific visualisation and communication as well as research, with a particular interest in graphics that communicate scientific information without oversimplifying it.

Outside of research, I also make hand-drawn illustrations, mainly using coloured pencil and gouache. I enjoy working in detail and paying close attention to plumage, colour, texture and the individual characteristics of each species.

This website brings together different parts of my work, from scientific research and visual communication to figures, workflows and bird illustration.
